Biography

A Qatari Minister of State, diplomat, and intellectual, a tactful, eloquent and confident speaker, with a distinguished presence and a prominent and exceptional personality. He served the country for decades, contributing to its renaissance in the fields of culture, media, and diplomacy. His name is associated with success and diligence. He traveled, building bridges between Qatar and the world, shortening distances, and contributing to consolidating relations. He won friends wherever he went and was an honorable image for his country.

He best represented his country as an ambassador, minister, delegate to the United Nations, intellectual, and writer. He traveled the world, collecting knowledge, culture, and science, and sipping nectar from every flower.

He took from the East love, beauty, a dream, acceptance of the other, and beautiful memories, and from Africa, companions who supported him and believed in his message, and he learned from them to cling to the dream and strive to gain freedoms and rights, and in the west, he learned from science and went through new experiences. Some of them were difficult and some were an enjoyable journey. All these experiences made him. His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari, Minister of State, and President of Qatar National Library. He served as Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage of the State of Qatar from 2008 to 2016, and served as the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States of America and France and a delegate to UNESCO and the United Nations. He is married and the father of a daughter and two sons.

In 2017, the State of Qatar nominated him for the position of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and although he did not win, he invested in the experience and documented it to be a beacon that guides generations to the path of success and optimism, and a message not to give up and acquiesce.
